Emergency Closings and Delayed Openings

In the case of inclement weather, information on snow closings and/or delayed openings can be accessed by any one of the following ways:

• "Honeywell Alert" Message sent from the Superintendent of Schools
• Television: Tune into News 12 New Jersey for periodic updates, which are scrolled across the bottom of the screen in County order.
• Internet: Log onto News12.com for continual notices & updates.
• Telephone: Call: (973) 691-4019, the emergency & snow closing hotline.
• Radio: Tune into WMTR & WDHA (AM-1250 & FM-105.5), WRNJ (AM-1510 & FM 107.1), or WNNJ (FM-103.7 & AM-1360) for periodic updates.

Delayed Opening Schedule:

When the district has a delayed start, classes will either begin 2 hours or 3 hours later than usual. Your notification will designate whether it is a 2 hr delay or 3 hr delay. Please provide your child with a plan of where to go in case you are not home at the time of the early dismissal.

2 Hour Delayed Openings:

• Grades 1- 5: 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM **Lunch will be served**
• Kindergarten Schedule 'A': AM & AM K-Excel 10:30AM-3:30PM (PM cancelled)
• Kindergarten Schedule 'B': PM & PM K-Excel 10:30AM-3:30PM (AM cancelled

3 Hour Delayed Openings:

• Grades 1- 5: 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM **Lunch will NOT be served**
• Kindergarten Schedule 'A': AM & AM K-Excel 11:30AM-3:30PM (PM cancelled)
• Kindergarten Schedule 'B': PM & PM K-Excel 11:30AM-3:30PM (AM cancelled)
