Homework assigned by a teacher is meant to assist students in mastering concepts. It is expected that students will complete homework nightly and have it completed for class each day.
While the district has a redo/retake policy, students must show a good effort on homework in order to receive credit. It is the teacher's discretion as to whether homework was completed with a good effort and whether the student will receive credit. Students who made a reasonable attempt at their homework can earn up to a 70% if redone. Homework will not be given credit if it was not produced on the day that it was due, copied from another student, or partially completed.
Assignments missed as a result of absences are to be made up in a timely fashion. Students are given one extra day for each day he or she has been absent. It is the responsibility of the student to request makeup work. Homework will be provided after the second consecutive day of absence. Students should obtain assignments from a peer for absences of two or less days. Homework should be requested from the main office by extension 5108, and the team leaders will be contacted by the office personnel. Homework agendas are provided by the school PTO and are expected to be used daily. Agendas may be signed and monitored by parents and teachers as deemed necessary.
