This course is designed to place emphasis on the development of basic study skills, core social studies skills and critical thinking.  The primary goal of this course is to develop students who can think critically, problem solve, and make decisions.  This course centers on students' understanding of present concepts of culture.  Students will research the political, economic, environmental, religious and social influences upon a culture both past and present.  Global cultures such as European, Hispanic, African, Asian, and Middle Eastern are compared and contrasted to demonstrate the similarities of humankind.
