Vocational Training

The Department of Special Services at Morris County School of Technology offers a shared-time program.  The students receive vocational training for one-half day and pursue academic studies for the other half-day at our high school.

The purpose of the program is to develop individual skills necessary to obtain gainful employment upon graduation.  The basic premise is that the individual can be trained for energy-level employment in areas identified as realistic occupational areas.  The "realism" is dictated both by an individual's abilities and opportunities within the community.

Each training program is based upon competency-based, task-oriented curriculum that has been developed in conjunction with industrial advisory councils.  Skill training is supplemented with on-the-job-training, employment counseling and related academic instruction.  For information on program descriptions, please click here to reference the Morris County School of Technology website.
