This course aims to provide students with a general awareness of the various forces which have formed our society and government in order to better understand and appreciate America's present domestic and international role.  A thematic conceptual approach within a chronological sequence from the Industrial Revolution to the present will serve as the core of this course.  Both primary and secondary documents will be used as well as occasional digressions, permitting students to study certain historical or current issues of major significance such as Holocaust Education, and Women and Minority studies
