Occasionally, it may become necessary to delay the opening of school due to inclement weather conditions. All schools will open two hours later than usually scheduled. Bus pickups will be two hours later than the normal bus pickup time. Radio announcements will be made on the radio stations listed above.

In the interest of safety, it occasionally becomes necessary to close prior to the regular dismissal time. This may be due to heavy snow warning, tornado alerts, or other causes.

It is not possible to notify parents directly of the change in schedule because of limited telephone lines, the large number of students involved, and the number of persons who must be notified to carry out the early closing.         Parents should have a contingency plan in the event of an early closing.

Parents wishing to have their child leave prior to the close of school must send a note to the school explaining why such early dismissal is necessary.  Permission can be granted for legitimate reasons only.
