Special Services Resources

Some students with disabilities have special testing needs. Eligible students can apply to SSD for accommodations for the PSAT/NMSQT, the SAT, SAT Subject Tests and Advanced Placement Program® (AP) Exams.

The College Board provides a broad range of accommodations to students with documented disabilities. Examples of accommodations include tests in Braille or large print, extra breaks between sections and extended testing time. Eligible students must apply and be approved before they can use accommodations on College Board tests.

The school counselor and SSD Coordinator can help submit the necessary information on line.

Accommodations requests should be submitted in plenty of time to go through the review process.

Students whose documented disabilities affect them during testing situations may be eligible for accommodations. 

Required Information
As part of this process, schools provide the College Board with detailed information about the disability. This may include a diagnosis and any evaluation results. 

After a request has been reviewed, the student and school are notified of the decision and any accommodations that have been granted.

DDD Website

DDD funds a wide array of services intended to help support individuals with developmental disabilities who reside in the community. These services are not an entitlement, and their availability depends on current resources. The types of services available also may vary among counties. DDD is always seeking ways to manage its budget and use its funding as effectively as possible in order to serve as many people as possible.

DDD provides case management and/or information and referral services to everyone who is eligible to receive the services it funds. DDD funds three types of services for people who reside in the community:day services, including supports for people who are employed residential services, including individual supports that assist an individual living at home or elsewhere in the community Family Support services that assist families caring for loved ones at home

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Consumers are given a vocational rehabilitation evaluation, vocational guidance and counseling, physical restoration, vocational training, rehabilitation technology, work adjustment training, supported employment, on-the-job training, job preparation and job placement.
